Diamonds is the most precious gems in the world. Do you that? "The Diamond" is the hardest substance on Earth. The fact that diamond is a hard substance that has the ability to withstand breaking. And 80% of the diamond which is a volcanic rock.

Diamond is so unique and precious when presented to someone, it holds the heart for those who received it. Diamond is a special gift that you give to someone no matter how expensive it is.

4'Cs of Diamond
Diamonds can be explained by learning the 5c's which characterize and distinguish the different grades and quality.

Carat measures the mass of diamond. One carat is defined as 200 milligrams , point unit is commonly used for diamonds of less than one carat. The price per carat does not increase smoothly with increasing size.



Clarity is a measure of internal defects of a diamond maybe crystal of foreign material or another diamond crystal. The number, size, color, orientation and visibility of inclusion can all affect the relative clarity of a diamond.

Color
A perfect diamond is perfectly transparent with no hue, or color. The color of the diamond may be affected by the chemical impurities or structural defects depending on the hue and density of diamond's coloration. Most diamond used a gemstones are basically transparent with little tint or white diamonds.

Cut
Diamond cutting is the art of creating a gem quality diamond out of mined rough. The diamond cut and ideal cut describes the manner in which a diamond has been shaped and polished from its beginning form as a rough stone to its final gem proportion.

Rubies are one of my favourite gemstones. Rubies conjure visions of long-ago India, beautiful dark-haired women in colourful saris trimmed lavishly in gold, their ears and arms heavy with golden jewelry made of rubies and other precious gemstones...corpulent Eastern kings who leer at dancing girls, rubies and diamonds flashing on every finger...exotic courtesans who live only to be beautiful and to please...
But rubies are also a modern favourite; the ruby is the July birthstone and one of the three precious gemstones other than diamonds (the other two are emerald and sapphire). I love to work with rubies although I am limited somewhat by price. However, the natural rubies that you see on this page were all fairly inexpensive, as rubies go. Although I do have some gem-quality rubies on the Cluny Grey Jewelry website, I decided to feature these natural rubies today.
